Founded in 2010, The Law Office of Jaia Thomas focuses on providing quality and customized legal solutions to corporations and individuals in all facets of the sports and entertainment industry.  What distinguishes our firm from other law firms is Jaia Thomas’ understanding of the industry not only from a legal perspective but also from a practical perspective.  She has worked in various capacities in the entertainment industry on both coasts and has been quoted in such notable publications as The New York Times (“Sports Stars Seek Profit in Catchphrases“) USA Today (Colin Kaepernick Defends Move to Protect Personal Brand“). In addition to her practice, Ms. Thomas is a contributor for Entrepreneur Magazine, where she regularly authors articles pertaining to the intersection of sports, entertainment, entrepreneurship and the law.


Jaia Thomas is a graduate of Colgate University and The George Washington University Law School. She also holds a Certificate in Television, Film and New Media Production from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Thomas is an instructor at UCLA, where she teaches a course titled Copyright Law in the Entertainment Industry. Prior to her appointment at UCLA, she was an instructor at American University in Washington DC, where taught graduate students in the School of Communication the intricacies of forming and operating a media production company. She has also guest lectured at Carnegie Mellon University and Vassar College. She is a member of the New York Bar Association and American Bar Association.
